Ceramics Pottery Bowl

This Ceramics Pottery Bowl is one of my favourites. If you want to know how to make pottery, this is a great project. It is a bowl made from making a pattern from coils in a mold. As it is hard to explain I am going to go straight in to the project.

Select a ceramic mold/ pottery mold to use in this project.

Roll out a coil.

Roll the coil in to a shape ready to be placed in the ceramic mold. Repeat this process.

Add extra coils.

Grow the pot to fit in to the mold. Tip: when placing the coils in mold overlap slightly, press gently but firmly. Make sure that the clay joins. Do not press to hard and loose coil shape qualities.

When you are happy with the shape leave to dry.

When dry remove from mold carefully - remember it will be delicate at this point.

Check the underside of the bowl for pattern of side facing the mold.
