Cheetah Pictures

These Cheetah Pictures were taken in a reserve is South Africa. The Cheetah populations of the world have been dramatically reduced over a large number of years. Many Cheetahs are now in reserves, though some are still wild. The reserve I visited was family run and the animals well looked after. The reserve was large and as much of the natural habitat was preserved as possible. A large amount of focus was given to the genetic makeup of the cheetahs in order to maintain the population healthily. In-breeding has caused problems which has led to the reduction of animals.

The family have a number of cheetahs that were there at the foundation of the reserve. These cheetahs though wild animals have an attachment to the family.

The cheetahs are fed meat and not left to hunt in the wild.

They are beautiful, elegant cats.
