Clay Pottery Projects.

When you think of clay pottery projects you tend to immediately think of shaping clay and firing in a pottery kiln. It can be called both pottery and ceramics.

It is a very satisfying craft. What you create can be used and viewed as art.

Please do not let the fact that you have no kiln stop you - you can learn how to make pottery as I have some projects that can be done with very low firing clay. This can be fired in a conventional oven.

I also have some suggestions as to how you can get access to a kiln.

Before I bought my kiln I went to my local paint a pot studio and asked them whether they would be happy to fire some of my work for me. To my delight they said yes - for a small fee. I also managed to get work fired in my local pottery supply shop.

If there are no supply or paint your own shops, what about a local potter?

Therefore, don't be disheartened if you do not have a kiln. You can usually find a way to get your work fired.

If you would like to look at the techniques that can be used. click on this link to see the different styles before you start your clay pottery projects.
