Their pink colour comes from the diet that they eat. The level of beta-cerodine in the diet is related to the colouting. You can find some flamingoes that are light pink and others that ar a strong shocking pink. These pictures show flamingoes standing the shallow water of a river. There are q large number of birds. Flamingoes live in colonies that can have thousands of birds. Though there are thousands of birds, the birds do pair off. The pairs start breeding when they are about 6. They do not breed every year.
